Craig Todd de Lange
After completing his schooling at Christian Brothers’ College in Welkom, Free State in 1984, Craig relocated to Port Elizabeth to study and settle. Craig obtained his B Comm. (Law) and LLB degrees at the University of Port Elizabeth. In 1996, Craig was admitted as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public and became a partner in the firm. Craig has been at the helm of BDLS Attorneys since 1999. Under Craig’s leadership, BDLS Attorneys has become a household name in the greater Port Elizabeth area. Craig is a past National Director of the SA Red Cross Society and the current acting C.E.O of the Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation, an NGO which aims at educating and assisting abused women and children.
Craig specialises in all aspects of the Law and is ably assisted by his two fellow directors and a loyal and trusted work team.
Urmila completed her BA LLB degrees at the University of Durban-Westville and was admitted as an Attorney, Notary Public and Conveyancer in 1976. She was a finalist of the SABC “Woman of the Year” in 1998 and in the same year she was appointed head of the Legal Department of the Local Division of the Independent Electoral Commission. She became Chairman of the Eastern Cape branch of the Institute of Directors in 2001. In 2004 she was chosen as a finalist of the Nedbank business Woman of the year.
In April 2008 she joined BDLS Attorneys Inc as a Director when her firm Soni Inc amalgamated with Burmeisters to form a new firm, Burmeister de Lange Soni Inc. Urmila is presently registered as a Master degree law research at the University of North West, her thesis subject is “Environmental challenges when pursuing property development within the urban edge.” By virtue of her studies on the environment and property development within the urban edge, she is required to study municipal laws, environmental laws and planning laws (including SPLUMA) and will become one of a few experts in our city in this field.
Angelique matriculated at York High School in George, Western Cape. She obtained her B Comm Law degree from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2008 majoring in Accounting. She then obtained her LLB from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2010.
Angelique completed her articles at BDLS Attorneys and was admitted as an Attorney in 2013 and in 2014 she was admitted as a Notary Public and Conveyancer. She became a Director of BDLS Attorneys in 2016.
